The book details the massive amount of statistical data used to determine the overall success of the team. The A's established a new method of thinking for recruiting players. Players were chosen not because they look talented or the scouting reports determined them unstoppable, they were chosen because statistics said that these players have a winning edge. This edge has a better chance of playing itself out than relying on the simple guessing game that has determined previous player selections. Essentially, Billy Beane and the Oakland A's relied upon numbers instead of opinions to determine the best players, and establish a winning team. Similarly, The Wall Street Warrior removes the guessing game strategy of deciding which stocks, strategies,or patterns to trade, and provides statistical data to determine what trades have a winning edge.

The Wall Street Warrior's web based reporting system allows the user to mine the back-tested result sets for an increased trading edge. Create higher-probability trades, trading off daily chart patterns. The data mining feature filters the total results sets to show only the results for the days that occur after specific patterns occur. This will allow you to increase your trading edge by trading after patterns that work in your favor and not trading after patterns that have not historically proven to be beneficial to your trading system.

Active Risk Management Algorithms      

The Wall Street Warrior incorporates an Active Risk Management Algorithm (ARMA) that allows the trader to determine the capital at risk while trading live within the BATA. Using this algorithm, the Wall Street Warrior will calculate (when possible) the number of shares to be traded based on how much the trader is willing to risk. This will allow the trader to set his risk parameters before any positions are entered.
